The Beryle Gardner Award was established in 2005.  It was designed to encourage individuals under the custody or supervision of the Vermont Department of Corrections to complete their high school diploma.  Beryle Gardner believed that these individuals had the right to a basic education and the opportunity to improve their future.  The recipients of this award will exemplify Beryle’s appreciation of community service and education.
